WHERE HEALING BEGINS AND POTENTIAL GROWS.
At Opportunity Adkinson Project, our mission is to empower youth ages 12 –21 by providing a safe, nurturing environment where they can heal, grow, and thrive. We focus on building life skills, fostering meaningful relationships, and supporting long-term stability—so every young person leaves not just prepared for adulthood, but confident in their ability to shape their own future.
Our Services
Opportunity Adkinson Project (OAP) provides a wide array of trauma-informed, youth-centered services tailored to support the holistic development of individuals ages 13–21. Our programs are designed to create a stable foundation for young people navigating complex life challenges, including those involved in the foster care or juvenile justice systems.
We offer Individual Care plans that focus on each youth's goals and strengths, supported by dedicated case managers and crisis intervention teams. Our Therapy Service ensures timely, flexible mental health support across all of our homes, creating safe spaces for healing and emotional growth.
Through academic tutoring, job readiness training, and life skills readiness, we prepare our youth for independence and success in adulthood. We are proud to offer specialized support for LGBTQ+ youth, ensuring every individual feels seen, respected, and safe.
Whether it's reconnecting with family, building new support networks, or simply having a trusted adult to turn to, OAP is committed to walking alongside every young person on their journey to resilience and self-sufficiency.
MEET THE FOUNDER
OUR FOUNDER, JOHNNA ADKINSON
" For the past 21 years, I have been privileged with the opportunity of being a resource parent (foster parent). Through my experience, I learned that the greatest need was creating a safe, loving family and comfortable environment. Creating O.A.P. allows me to extend myself and share my experiences while aiding individuals who have been impacted by abandonment, substance abuse, residential misplacement, mental health, domestic abuse, poverty, and more. O.A.P. is a home that is built on love, empathy, and a desire to heal and unite individuals with common struggles and needs. We are a safe zone, a healing place, and most importantly a family!"
